AegeanDocs tribute to Stavros Tsakirakis in Mytilene and Molyvos
The opening film of the 7th Aegeandocs Documentary Festival, "Advocate", is dedicated to the memory of Stavros Tsakyrakis, a Molivian professor, a staunch defender of human rights. Monday 30th September at 20.00 at the Municipal Theater of Mytilene. The projection will be followed by the conversation between the directors Rachel Leah Jones and Phillippe Dellaiche and the protagonist Lea Tsemel with the Audience
On Tuesday 1st October, the tribute to Stavros Tsakirakis is transferred to Molyvos, the village he loved. At the conference center at 19.00 the memory of the pencil intellectual will be honored by Israeli lawyer Lea Tsemel and the directors who would discussed about Tsakirakis with the citizens. Leas Tsemel is the person who inspired the great Greek director Kostas Gavras in the film Hanna K

AegeanDocs is an international Festival of documentary films taking place simultaneously in Lesvos, Chios, Samos and in other 9 islands of Aegean Sea. The main venues are the municipality cinema theater in Mytilene, Lesvos. Its main aim is to introduce and promote the most important documentary productions worldwide and create an international forum for presentations and panel discussions about emerging media and information technologies. It is particularly interested in films with political, historical and social subjects. AegeanDocs is organized with the support of North Aegean Region and the collaboration of University of the Aegean. It is produced by StoryDoc. The program includes a selection of Greek, European and worldwide productions of the last three years, retrospectives, workshops and masterclasses.
Awards & Closing Ceremony of the 6th AegeanDocs
The closing & award ceremony, took place on Sunday the 7th of October at the crowded Municipal Theatre of Mytilini, a day after the end of the screenings. The ceremony opened with the screening of the film MY ENEMY, MY BROTHER of Ann Shin. Τhe producer of the film Danielle Torkov Wilson honored the festival with her presence.
